It's hard not to be inspired by these beatiful women in their classic swimwear...
Betty Grable is wearing a late 1940's Maillot, or one-piece swimsuit, with a scoop neck & straps and high-cut legs. This swimsuit had more support throughout this time and was made to flatter a woman's figure.
This swimsuit is also from the late 1940's. Rita Hayworth is wearing a two-piece Bikini with a halter, high waist bottoms, and high-cut legs. This style became very popular during the war because there were shortages of fabric, thus making smaller swimsuits.
Ava Gardner is wearing an early 1950's two-piece Bikini with a strapless top, high waist bottoms, and high-cut legs. During this time padding was added to the bust and new fabrics were being used for a water weight solutions and to help cling to a woman's curves better.
Keep a look out, I hope to have a vintage inspired swimsuit up by time summer arrives!
