1920's Dresses

Comfort, Yes Please!  Being a stay-at-home mom, I won't lie, I love my sweats.  But is there a better way to go about being comfy and stylish?  YUP!

During the 1920's, also known as the flapper era, women began wearing more comfortable clothing and said goodbye to the confined fashions of past years.  Dresses were a straight-line, with a low-waist, and had an ample hemline.  Dresses had pleats, slits, or gathers that allowed women to dance and move more easily.  Accompanied with dresses were cloche hats, long necklaces, and bar shoes.  Beading, furs, feathers, lace, and flowers were also popular items worn with or on dresses.

The boyish figure of the chemise may seem a little frumpy in our modern day, but it gave off such a feminine charm.  For a casual yet elegant look, this simple garment can be comfortably worn for a quiet evening in or a night out on the town.  Wear it your way by adding a few of your favorite accessories and a cute pair of heels.
