On July 23rd, 2011, one of my greatest friends, actress, and owner of Ode Floral Artistry (http://odefloral.com/#home) Rickey Minder was to be wed. She had an absolutely gorgeous blouse handed down to her from her mother (which she wore on her wedding 32 years prior), but she needed a skirt to accompany it.
Honored that she even asked me, I took on the challenge. Seven months pregnant with Sawyer and working for a busy law firm in downtown Portland, I can definitely say, it was a challenge. After four Fabric Depot runs and countless yards of fabric, I had a stunning, high waisted, silk chiffon skirt. I was very nervous about her wearing it, afterall, it is the most important day in a girl's life. Needless to say, I cried; she was a vision.
The skirt was tailored to fit Rickey specifically and with no fittings (since we lived 1000 miles from each other), it fit beautifully.
