For the Love of Dots

Oh, polka dots!  What's not to love?  A playful pattern so simple; it's amazing how it can be worn in so many different ways.

Polka dots have been around since the late nineteenth century.  It's amazing where they pop up in our history...
In 1928 Minnie Mouse was created, wearing a polka dot skirt.  A polka dot dress was an important part of Lucille Ball's wardrobe in I Love Lucy.  Many celebraties during the 1940's and 50's were seen wearing polka dots; including Marilyn Monroe and Anne Gunning.  And, of course, the 1960 hit "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" by Brian Hyland.
